About Lowder & Lowder Construction, Inc.

Lowder and Lowder Construction services the Chattanooga, Tennessee, area, but we go far beyond the city limits of Chattanooga. We are licensed to work in Tennessee, Georgiaabama. If you are located in Tennessee, or Georgia, contact us, and we will be happy to serve you! We have been in business for more than 40 years and specialize in all types of residential and commercial contracting services.

A licensed contractor is a person or business that has met the necessary industry standards to perform a number of tasks in the states where they have obtained the license. Because Lowder and Lowder Construction is a licensed contractor in Georgia, and Tennessee, we can legally perform all types of residential and commercial construction services in these states.

Not at all! We have only listed our most common services on our website, but those are not the only services we can perform. We are a licensed contractor that can perform any construction service you need. We need a little information from you about the service you need, and we will schedule a consultation to discuss the job and approximately how much it will cost.

We prioritized leaving the job site in a better condition than when we found it. That’s why we will always clean up the mess we created on the job. We make sure to keep the job site clean and safe while working around your home. Once the job is finished, you’ll never know we were there! (Other than the completion of the service we performed, of course!)

We will keep you involved every step of the way throughout the project! Don’t be afraid to contact us if you have a question arise in the middle of the job. While we try to lay out a detailed understanding of how long the job will take, how we will execute the job, and how much it will cost, we understand that questions may come up. Our team assigned to your job will do their best to answer any questions you may have throughout the entire process!

Not at all! All you need to do is contact us to let us know what service you need. You can call our office at 423-870-1731 or fill out our online form to let us know what you’re looking for. We will set up a time to meet with you and provide you with a free quote for the job! The quote will include a rough estimate of the job cost and a timeframe for how long it will take.

Absolutely! We welcome feedback and want to know how we’re doing! You can use the same form found on the contact us page to let us know how we did on the job we performed. You can include as much as you want on the form. Most of our clients have included feedback regarding our response time, professionalism, and attention to detail on the job. Let us know how we’re doing! We look forward to hearing from you when the job is done!

Yes! While our home office is located at 2909 Hamill Road in Chattanooga, Tennessee, we service areas outside the greater Chattanooga area! We are licensed to work in Tennessee, and Georgia. If you have a job in Alabama or Georgia outside of the Chattanooga area, let us know! We will be happy to schedule a time to discuss the job and what it will take for us to do the job for you.

Many times, a homeowner will try to do the basic DIY remodeling themselves only to find themselves in over their head. Additionally, some jobs may require the city or county to be contacted for approval to do the job. We are aware of all the requirements required to do the job and won’t cut any corners. This means you get a finished job that meets all the requirements and will last many years.

We want you to ask as many questions as possible in our consultation so that we are on the same page about the job! No question is too big or too small to ask. Some of the questions we are commonly asked include the cost of the job, how long the job will take, and how the job will be handled if the client changes their mind about some aspect of the job.

Tim Lowder—the owner and founder of Lowder and Lowder Construction—has more than 40 years of construction experience. Lowder and Lowder Construction has been in business for more than 34 years after Tim founded Lowder and Lowder Construction in 1988. Tim is a member of the quality contractor network for EnergyRight TVA and a Wedgcor Steel Building dealer.

Yes! Tim meets with potential clients to discuss the job they have in mind. He will answer any question you have and will make sure his team is prepared to do the job right. If you have any questions during the course of the project, Tim may visit the job site to determine a solution or make a recommendation accordingly. Customer satisfaction is Tim’s number one goal at Lowder and Lowder Construction.

We will keep you informed every step of the way throughout the project. This includes how much the job will cost. If we notice that the cost is projected to be higher than the original estimate, we will immediately bring this to your attention to discuss the increase in cost and what we can do to make the project cost-effective. You can always ask us to discuss the current estimate of the project at any time to ensure we are on track!

Excavation Services

At Lowder and Lowder Construction, we perform all types of excavation services. Most of our excavation services are for customers who need lots cleared, a house demolished, or water/sewer lines replaced. We can perform these services and more for both residential and commercial customers. Let us know what type of excavation service you need, and we will be happy to help!

One of our specialties at Lowder and Lowder Construction is trenching. We can perform any type of trenching service you need. The most common trenching services we perform include clearing, digging, and burying electrical wires, water lines, sewage lines, and drain pipes. Without proper draining, your home runs the risk of damage to the foundation or structure of the house. We can perform any trenching service you need—big or small!

Concrete Services

Absolutely! Contact us to schedule a free, in-person consultation, and we will inspect your foundation to determine how it should be repaired. Repairing a cracked foundation is always our goal, but there are times when a cracked foundation will need to be replaced. We may need to reconfigure the foundation wall to account for water drainage or to fill tunnels that pests have unknowingly dug. Contact us, and we will look at your foundation for free.

First, our team of experts will devise a plan that begins with digging out the foundation to give us a new place to start. Once the foundation has been removed, the walls will be repaired or replaced, depending on the extent of the damage determined during the consultation. We will finish the repairs by installing proper drainage channels, including French drains and the appropriate waterproofing.

At Lowder and Lowder Construction, we can perform any residential or commercial concrete service. Our most common concrete services include pouring concrete pads, driveways, sidewalks, and patios, but we can likely perform any concrete service you need. Just let us know what you need, and we will put a plan together to get it done.

All concrete jobs are different, so there is no standard cost for concrete services. But don’t worry! We will give you a personalized, detailed quote for the concrete service you need. Once you have contacted us to let us know the concrete service you need us to perform, we will schedule a consultation to meet and discuss the project, and the cost will be determined at that time.

Retaining Walls

If you are installing a retaining wall yourself, it can be no taller than 4 feet—otherwise, it will need to be installed by a licensed contractor. The licensed contractor must submit plan drawings to the city or county for approval.

We recommend using a licensed contractor to install a retaining wall of any height so that you know all of the steps of the process are done right. When installing a retaining wall, we will dig the foundation and pour the footings for the wall. Then, we will set the forms for the walls to be poured.

Remodeling Services

Yes! At Lowder and Lowder Construction, we offer any residential remodeling service you may need. Our most popular residential remodeling services include room additions, kitchen remodeling, bathroom remodeling, basement remodeling, and handicap/ADA/disability remodeling. We can also move walls in your home to open up or reconfigure rooms in your home by demolishing the old walls and reinforcing the new ones.

Yes! All you need to do is contact us to let us know what you have in mind. We will meet with you to discuss all of your visions and ideas. Then we will create a custom design that checks all the boxes. Turning your dream home into a reality is our top priority. Even if you only have a few ideas, we will incorporate those into our design to ensure your dream house has everything you want.

Yes! Like residential remodeling services, we offer any commercial remodeling service you need. We can add new rooms, build-outs, remodels, and plumbing reconfiguration. We also offer maintenance services, including lighting, air filters, and HVAC repairs. Just let us know what you have in mind for your commercial remodel, and we will execute it.

Residential and commercial buildings require handicap accessibility standards that comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). All of our handicap-accessible services for commercial and residential properties are ADA-compliant. This includes a wheelchair ramp, wide hallways, walk-in bathtubs, walk-in showers with handles, and many more features to make the building handicap accessible.

There’s more to remodeling a room in your house than the initial appearance that a remodeled room offers! Not only do remodeled rooms offer the most recent style, designs, and trends, but they can also help your house become energy efficient. For example, remodeling an outdated bathroom with a new toilet can help save water and reduce water consumption. New windows and doors can help insulate the house and reduce using energy.

Absolutely! You don’t have to have all of the specific details of the room remodeling project to contact us! Just let us know that you are interested in residential remodeling, and we will give you a rough estimate of what to expect. The estimate will include a timeline of the job and how much it will cost. Keep in mind that the more information you have, the more detailed and realistic the quote will be. A rough estimate of a generic room remodel is a rough estimate.

When we remodel a kitchen, we can do it all. This includes cabinets, backsplash, fixtures, flooring, and ceilings. We can also order and install your appliances through our local network of suppliers. No kitchen remodel is too big or too small for us to take.

Not all upgrades will offer a return on investment. The three rooms that will offer the most significant return on investment include the kitchen, bathroom, and family room. When remodeling a room to put the house on the market, you should upgrade the cabinets, countertops, and fixtures in these rooms to give you the most significant return on your investment. We will walk you through the entire process to ensure we upgrade exactly what you want and need to sell your house.

Yes! We build our own built-in custom cabinets for the room you’re remodeling or building. These cabinets aren’t limited to just the bathroom or the kitchen. We can build specialty built-in cabinets or bookshelves in a living or family room. Let us know the idea you have for cabinets, and we will begin a design!

Absolutely! Basement finishing is just one of our many specialties. We will fully finish your basement from floor to ceiling. This includes HVAC, drywall, plumbing, and cabinets. Let us know what you need in your finished basement, and we can do it!

Painting Services

Like concrete services, we offer both residential and commercial painting services. Our painters have over 35 years of experience and are skilled in performing various techniques to give you the best interior or exterior colors, textures, and finishes to fit the design of the room or building. We also offer free color consultations to determine the best color(s) for your interior or exterior walls!

Yes! Our team of skilled painters can paint or repaint masonry. Just let us know what you have in mind, and our painters can get the job done. It’s important to use professionals for masonry painting. DIY masonry paint will only last for about five years before needing to be touched up, whereas our team of experts will use the best masonry paint or exterior wall coatings to ensure the color lasts for years.

Flooring Services

Absolutely! We offer a variety of flooring services. We can replace the floors in your home using the same flooring style and material, or you can change the style and material completely! We can install granite, solid wood, engineered wood, natural stone, marble, terra cotta, slate, and many more types of floors. Let us know what you have in mind for replacing your floors, and we will begin designing a plan!

Deck Building

Yes! We know how important it is to have a solid, reinforced deck attached to your house. You should replace a deck immediately when you notice the deck has deteriorated, become weakened, or missing any slats. We can safely remove your existing deck and rebuild a new one that matches the previous design or has a new one altogether. The new deck can be fully open or enclosed depending on how you want it to look and function.

Yes! Many of our clients achieve more functionality in their homes by replacing an open deck with a screened-in porch. We will safely remove the old deck and replace it with a new one with privacy screens. You can also choose a combination of a deck and a screened-in porch. Just let us know what you have in mind, and we will take it from there!

Fire Damage

Mold Remediation

Absolutely! We take mold removal very seriously. When mold is detected, it is imperative that you get it removed as quickly as possible by a professional. If mold isn’t removed from the home, you can become sick and stay sick. When you contact us about potential mold, we will inspect the building to determine what type of mold is present and how we will completely remove it from your home.

You shouldn’t wait to have your roof inspected. You should have your roof inspected at the first sign of water damage. Your roof has likely been damaged for a while before it showed signs of water damage on your ceiling. Contact us immediately, and we will send our team of roofing inspectors to climb your roof and determine the damage. Then we will create a game plan for repairing or replacing your roof.

Siding Installation

There are two types of warranties that are included with siding installation. The first warranty is a manufacturer’s warranty. This warranty is conducted through the siding manufacturer—meaning that the length and terms of the warranty will vary depending on the manufacturer. The second warranty is the Lowder and Lowder Construction two-year installation warranty. We will cover the siding for two years after the installation.

Window and Door Installation

Yes! Whether you want to upgrade your windows and doors to a new style or you want your windows and doors to become more energy efficient, we can help! We will remove the old windows and doors and replace them with the new ones of your choice. We can also repair windows and doors that may have cosmetic or functional flaws and restore them to like new again!

There are a few ways to determine if the windows in your home need to be replaced. If your windows meet any of the following criteria, they should be replaced:

  • The windows are more than 20 years old
  • Your house stays hot in the summer or on sunny days
  • You can feel a draft coming through the windows
  • The windows can no longer be opened, or they are difficult to open and close
  • You can hear noise coming from outside
